Vintage Military Planes Fly Over Henry County Fair

Last Saturday, my wife and I, along with our oldest daughter attended the Henry County Fair. While touring the fairgrounds, five vintage military planes streaked through the sky. I really didn’t have the “right” lens for taking photographs of the planes, but I learned long ago that it’s better to shoot and fail than not shoot at all. As you can see, I was rewarded for my faith.vintage military planes 2017 (2) vintage military planes 2017 (1)

A Young Woman and Her Cow at the Henry County Fair

My wife and I, along with our oldest daughter, joined two of our sons and their families for a night at Henry County Fair. Polly and I will both admit that we don’t care much for going to fairs — once every ten years is often enough for us. Nothing at the Henry County Fair changed our minds about fairs in general.  We did, however, thoroughly enjoy the NTPA (National Tractor Pulling Association) sanctioned tractor pull. Outside of the tractor pull, our fair experience pretty much lined up with our previous visits to the Perry County Fair (1980s) and Williams County Fair (1990s).  I told Polly, as a teen I loved going to the fair. Girls, food, and rides. What’s not to like, right?  I am now too old to chase girls, on a diet, and scared to death of the rides. Such is life, I suppose.

While touring one of the livestock barns, I came a young women relaxing in a barn stall with her Holstein cow. She graciously granted me permission to take photographs.

Youth Baseball in Northwest Ohio

youth baseball 9u 2017 (7)

During the late spring and summer months, I have numerous opportunities to take photographs at youth baseball and softball games. My grandchildren are of the age that they are now trying their hands at sports, so as a photographer and a proud grandfather, I often find myself on the third or first base lines, camera in hand. From time to time, I also shoot games for friends and relatives. The photographs that follow were taken during my cousin’s son’s 9U baseball game. While his team lost the game, my cousin’s son — coming in as a reliever — pitched an awesome game.

I have been asked if I do sports photo shoots for non-family and friends, and the answer is yes. If you would like me to attend your child’s game and take some candid photographs, please email me via the contact form, telling me exactly what it is you would like me to do. You will find my service affordable. I offer everything from photo shoots to prints, on location or in studio.

Goll Woods and nearby Lockport wooden bridge are excellent places for photo shoots. Last fall, I had the privilege of photographing my daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter.
