Hanging Out With the Squirrels at Riverside Park, Findlay, Ohio

One of my favorite spots to sit and relax is Riverside Park in Findlay, Ohio. Opened in 1906, Riverside Park used to have amusement rides, including a carousel and train. Currently, Riverside is home to a pool, band shell, and numerous well-kept buildings that can be used for picnics and parties.  Sitting along the Blanchard River, Riverside also offers delightful trails, observations areas, and boat rentals.

Recently, my wife and celebrated our fortieth wedding anniversary. After eating dinner at Red Lobster on Tiffin Avenue, we headed to Riverside Park to walk off our meal. Riverside is home to numerous squirrels, two of which graciously “posed” for me.

Watching the Evening Traffic in Findlay, Ohio

Several weeks ago, my wife and I, along with our oldest daughter, traveled to Findlay, Ohio to eat fine Italian cuisine at Rossilli’s, located at 217 South Main Street. This was our first visit to Rossilli’s. The food and service were delightful. Our server quickly greeted us, and soon brought to our table warm Italian bread and our drinks. We ordered three meatballs as an appetizer. For our main course meals, my wife ordered Chicken Marsala, our daughter dined on Bucatini with Meatballs, and I had Romano Crusted Chicken. Including a 20 percent gratuity, our check came to $82.

We exited Rossilli’s, planning to see the Black Panther movie at AMC Findlay 12 on Interstate Drive, just off the juncture of I-75 and State Route 15. Next door to Rossilli’s was a kitchen design business. It was closed and darkened, but I saw the office light was on at the back of the store. At the front door was a dog that gave us a woof or two as we passed by. The dog then turned to watch the traffic coursing along Main Street.

Children at the Findlay Street Feast Part Two

Last Saturday, on a whim, Polly and I decided to drive to Findlay, Ohio and poke around a bit. We were delighted to find out that The Arts Partnership was holding its first ever Street Feast between Front Street. and West Main Cross Street. The event was held to raise money for The Arts Partnership. Please read my previous posts on the Street Feast titled, Jamming at the Findlay Street Feast and Children at the Findlay Street Feast Part One.

Throughout the evening, children would play and dance to the music towards the front of stage. We found their youthful enthusiasm quite entertaining.
