Vintage Military Planes Fly Over Henry County Fair

Last Saturday, my wife and I, along with our oldest daughter attended the Henry County Fair. While touring the fairgrounds, five vintage military planes streaked through the sky. I really didn’t have the “right” lens for taking photographs of the planes, but I learned long ago that it’s better to shoot and fail than not shoot at all. As you can see, I was rewarded for my faith.vintage military planes 2017 (2) vintage military planes 2017 (1)

A Young Woman and Her Cow at the Henry County Fair

My wife and I, along with our oldest daughter, joined two of our sons and their families for a night at Henry County Fair. Polly and I will both admit that we don’t care much for going to fairs — once every ten years is often enough for us. Nothing at the Henry County Fair changed our minds about fairs in general.  We did, however, thoroughly enjoy the NTPA (National Tractor Pulling Association) sanctioned tractor pull. Outside of the tractor pull, our fair experience pretty much lined up with our previous visits to the Perry County Fair (1980s) and Williams County Fair (1990s).  I told Polly, as a teen I loved going to the fair. Girls, food, and rides. What’s not to like, right?  I am now too old to chase girls, on a diet, and scared to death of the rides. Such is life, I suppose.

While touring one of the livestock barns, I came a young women relaxing in a barn stall with her Holstein cow. She graciously granted me permission to take photographs.

Children at the Findlay Street Feast Part Two

children findlay street feast 2017 (37)

Last Saturday, on a whim, Polly and I decided to drive to Findlay, Ohio and poke around a bit. We were delighted to find out that The Arts Partnership was holding its first ever Street Feast between Front Street. and West Main Cross Street. The event was held to raise money for The Arts Partnership. Please read my previous posts on the Street Feast titled, Jamming at the Findlay Street Feast and Children at the Findlay Street Feast Part One.

Throughout the evening, children would play and dance to the music towards the front of stage. We found their youthful enthusiasm quite entertaining.
